Multimedia Studio

Multimedia StudioThe Multimedia Studio is located on the first floor of the Library just inside the main entrance just past the Security Desk. The studio follows the Library hours of operation.

Studio Services:

  • Computers

    The Multimedia Studio is equipped with 22 Mac Pro workstations with 24" displays.

  • Video Editing Software and Hardware

    Four computers in the Multimedia Studio are equipped with video capture and editing hardware and software including Final Cut Pro, iMovie, DVD Players/Recorders and MiniDV/S-VHS Dual Decks.

  • Scanners

    The Multimedia Studio is eqipped with a wide-format scanner (12.2” x 17.2”), a photo/slide scannerand a multi-page document scanner.

  • Printers

    The Multimedia Studio is equipped with a color print station and is accessible to the printers in the LWC Productivity Cluster.

    Additional printing information

  • Training and Support

    Multimedia Specialists are generally available to provide assistance with hardware and software used in the Studio. Additional support is available from Library staff at the Information Services Desk. In addition to one-on-one support, there are a number of training opportunities available, including a DVD collection and classes taught by subject experts.

  Using Poster Creation Software (InDesign)
Location: Homer Rice Center

This class covers the basics of preparing to visually represent your research at a conference. The class will cover layout, headings, working with text and graphics, preparing for large format printing, and getting familiar with software packages that could aid you in creating your poster, such as Adobe InDesign CS5.   Basic Web Page Design: Dreamweaver CS5
Location: Homer Rice Center

This class will cover the basics of website creation using Adobe Dreamweaver CS5:

  • Set up a website and create multiple linked webpages
  • Modifying page properties - background, text color, link colors, etc.
  • Formatting text with html and basic CSS styles
  • Adding images/graphics and simple behaviors such as rollovers
  • Creating tables
  • Adding internal and external hyperlinks
  • Adding video and audio files
  • Uploading webpages and files to personal Prism/GT accounts
